Zes jaar heeft hij eraan gewerkt, na zijn uren. Maar na zes jaar zorgvuldig rubberen banden aan elkaar te knopen en rond elkaar te wikkelen heeft Joel Waul zijn droom waargemaakt. Hij staat in het Guinnes Book of World Records met de grootste bal van rubberen banden. Hoi. Moeten we die uitgave niet gewoon verbieden?

Vanmorgen werd dit beeld uit Letland nog aangeboden met volgende tekst:

Maar ondertussen is er een rechtzetting gekomen. Nader onderzoek heeft uitgewezen dat de krater met een schop is gegraven. De grappenmaker heeft wel een serieuze inspanning gedaan voor zijn grap.

Gisteren kwam ex-president Bush een speech geven in Montreal. Niet elke Canadees heette hem welkom. Protesteren tegen Bush doe je zoals ons dat geleerd is in Irak, door het smijten van schoenen. Uit de onderste foto blijkt dat meer dan één demonstrant die methode toegepast heeft. (foto's ap)
